LITHUANIAN BASKETBALL FEDERATION ESTABLISHES A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE NBA ESPORTS DIVISION

On the the 13-14th of December, Lithuanian Basketball Federation‘s representatives attended the NBA 2K League Invitational tournament in London, which featured 20 athletes from 7 European countries. The best virtual athletes of the tournament earned a spot in the NBA 2K League Draft, which will be held in New York this spring. The NBA 2K League currently has 23 official NBA club teams one Chinese esports organization.


While attending the tournament, Deividas Plerpa, Esports Consultant at LBF and Business Development Director at Grind Esports, met with NBA esports team leaders to discuss future cooperation opportunities. “We see the high potential of NBA esports in the world and in Lithuania. During the meeting with NBA executives, we introduced the Federation's activities in the field of esports and outlined possible directions for joint projects. We hope to announce new opportunities for Lithuanian basketball fans in virtual NBA basketball in the near future.”, said Deividas Plerpa.


LBF is dedicated to esports industry growth and is currently building an interactive basketball museum to show Lithuanian Basketball achievements. Furthermore, there will be a dedicated esports arena for NBA 2K gamers in the basketball hall.
